Host a Conference

WWW Conferences generally follow a 3-year cycle of being hosted in North America, Europe and Asia. Although uncommon, it is possible to deviate from this cycle if there is a very strong bid. IW3C2 seeks to have bids closed at least 3 years before the conference takes place. However, IW3C2 is willing to receive bids at any time, for any vacant year. If there are strong bids made earlier than 3 years before the conference, the bid may be accepted as soon as an agreement is reached. The decision process typically takes 6 months to complete, and is made during one of IW3C2's semi-annual meetings."

There is a formal procedure for an academic institute or consortium to apply to host an IW3C2 WWW Conference. If you are interested, please read the Conference Guide and fill out the application, making it available to the IW3C2 on the Web. We encourage parties interested in hosting a Conference to notify the IW3C2 chair (currently Vincent Shen) and the Conference Bids liason (currently Daniel Schwabe, bids a-t iw3c2 d_o_t org) as soon as possible. Please indicate which year(s) you are interested in. Our next committee meeting will be in October in Beijing.

Examples of previous successful bids for WWW2002 and WWW2003 are available.
